May 12: Thirsty in LA 2-Year Blogiversary & World Cocktail Day Celebration at Caña

May 13th is World Cocktail Day, the culmination of World Cocktail Week and its celebration of the American Cocktail. The date coincides with the earliest uses of the term “Cocktail” in the May 1806 editions of the Balance & Columbian Repository. It also happens to be the day that Thirsty in LA went live in 2009. With that in mind, I’ll be celebrating my Two-Year Blogiversary with a party at Caña Rum Bar on Thursday, May 12th!

Cinco de Mayo 2011: Bring On the Agave

Cinco de Mayo may have limited national significance in Mexico, but here in the U.S. and elsewhere, it’s a great day to celebrate Mexican culture by imbibing some of its finest exports. Bars and restaurants all over town will be hosting special events on the day that honors the Mexican Army’s victory over the occupying French forces at the Battle of Puebla on May 5, 1862.

Caña Celebrates One Year and Reloads with New Cocktails

Time flies when you’re having fun, and Caña Rum Bar is certainly a case in point, recently marking its first anniversary when it seems like only yesterday that it was celebrating its Grand Opening. Friends and well-wishers joined 213 Nightlife Proprietor Cedd Moses to toast Caña’s first year at a party that doubled as the formal launch of Caña’s Spring Cocktail Menu.
