The Formosa Cafe Reopens After $2.4 Million Renovation

Following a $2.4 million renovation, the legendary Formosa Cafe reopened on June 28, 2019. One of LA’s most famous watering holes from the Golden Age of Hollywood, the Formosa is the newest project from Bobby Green and 1933 Group, which has earned well-deserved accolades for their restoration work on Highland Park Bowl and Idle Hour.

As part of the two-year renovation to return the Formosa to its former glory, the restoration includes spectacular new elements like the fully revealed Pacific Electric Red Car – the oldest surviving one in existence – and the stunning new Yee Mee Loo room.
