On Tuesday, February 14th, The Edison is hosting the Queen of Hearts Valentine’s Ball, a Valentine’s Day soiree that features a special punch, an optional prix fixe dinner and the Queen of Hearts All-Star Band. Individual tickets are on sale now for $25 and include a cup of the Queen’s Punch: gin, Perrier Jouet and strawberries. For $100, couples can enjoy cups of the Queen’s Punch and dessert: Valentine’s Cupcakes (Red Velvet and Chocolate) with a glass of Port Wine.
Table reservations are $185 per couple and include cups of the Queen’s Punch and dinner for two. This special prix fixe menu offers guests the following:
- Reserved table for two
- A bud vase for the lady with a long stem rose
- Choice of Appetizer: Shrimp Cocktail, Angel Egg or Edison Meatballs
- Dinner Salad
- Choice of: Flatiron Steak with Garlic Fries; Short Ribs with Mashed Potatoes and Creamed Leeks; Salmon with Cous Cous; or Deconstructed Vegetarian Sandwich
- Dessert

The most romantic experience I have had was an evening in the mountains. I built a fire in a cabin in Idyllwild with my lover and then we performed interpretive dances for one another. We laughed until tears rolled down our cheeks, then soaked in a hot tub under the stars. Afterward we made music, wrote a new and song together – and the rest is left up to the imagination…
We drove to Angels Gate Park in San Pedro and watched the sunset over Catalina Island. I had never been and this is also the home of the Korean Bell of Friendship which is gorgeous and just so happens to be a part of my culture.
Afterward we went to Ports O’ Call and grubbed on a tray of shrimp, potatoes, onions, and garlic bread. You know exactly what I’m talking about.
Then we took a drive up PCH and came across a coffee shop called Coffee Cartel in Redondo where they had plenty of comfy couches and there were a few acoustic guitars being strummed outside by other patrons.
Our final destination was the Basement Tavern in Santa Monica which is a speakeasy like bar. Very hidden from the street, adorned with about a dozen different types of chairs, and on a Sunday night… very quiet and intimate.
The entire night was a surprise. It started with absolutely no plans at all and evolved into one of the most romantic evenings I’ve ever had.
Spent an enchanting weekend in the wine country of Solvang, for our anniversary, which was Valentine’s Day. We stayed in a Bed and Breakfast, with a park-like setting, that sits on a hill overlooking the Santa Maria mountains. After a casual day of wine tasting, we spent a lazy afternoon in hammocks in the private backyard area of our room, and had an after dinner soak in the in-room hot tub. It could not have been more beautiful.
It was late Spring and the weather was perfect. My sweetie and I were 4-wheeling in the woods near where we lived. He suggested we head to the river to rest for a bit. Near the bank he had a beautiful picnic set up. The most romantic part was the thought he put into it…from the food selection, to the wild flowers near by, to the color of the blanket. He proposed to me that day!
The most romantic thing me and my ex ever did was go on a boat ride on the napa river in napa, california. There was a wine and cheese tasting on the boat, and the surroundings were beautiful.

The most romantic thing my girlfriend’s ever done for me was show up to the ER room after I had a cycling accident. I text her from the ambulance because I was supposed to call her after my ride (we had just started dating). I told her I was okay and that my family was on their way. She was already at the hospital when I arrived all bloodied and bruised. We only knew each other 3 weeks but that’s when I fell in love.
Hopefully this can be part of the most romantic evening i will give to my other half! she is more than deserving and I hope to make her evening an unforgettable one! Full of adventures starting with the Edison and ending in the beach!
When I would get out of school early in Long Beach, I would sometimes drive to my then girlfriend’s work in Encino to surprise her with lunch.
