On February 11, an LA Times Food article included a profile of Modern Spirits (TRU Vodka, found [...]

By thirstyinla On October 21, 2009 · Add Comment · In Events

The upscale, 1920’s themed parties were previously held at downtown’s historic Oviatt Building, until the need for a larger venue brought ERA to the acclaimed restaurant on La Brea. It’s certainly an appropriate location: Campanile is [...]

I can’t believe it’s been almost a year since I’ve been behind the bar. Until things open back up, I’ll just keep drawing naked ladies posed with classic cocktails.

Cheers to the successful landing of @nasa’s Pers Cheers to the successful landing of @nasa’s Perseverance on Mars! 🚀
Throwing it back a few years to an amazing conversation I had at @sevengrandla with two veteran @nasajpl engineers. The husband asked what I was drinking, which happened to be the legendary Historic Core by @drinks_in_fruits, impeccably made by @luciee_ee. I explained the backstory and they both wanted one, sight unseen. 🥃
Turns out the husband was working on two key Perseverance projects: the Ingenuity “helicopter” and MOXIE (Mars Oxygen In-Situ Resource Utilization Experiment). 🚁👽
All of this to say that I miss sitting in front of John, Lucy and so many other bartenders - and having random, mind-blowing conversations in bars.
